Christmas Eve 2011

Our family had an amazing Christmas! We took so many great pictures of our family celebrating that it is going to take two blogs to show all the good ones!

Like every year, we started our evening off at church remembering what Christmas is all about. Carson got on stage and sang carols with all the children.

Afterwards, we went to Granny's for dinner and presents. She made my very favorite: fried squash!

Deacon liked the cheesecake the best:

Carson was so excited to open presents, he mostly filled up on bread.

My sister and nephews were in their usual, crazy form:

Meme and Pops kept the boys entertained too. Deacon is slightly partial to Pops, possibly because his Parkinson's is like his own, personal rocking chair and never fails at putting him to sleep!

Deacon awoke after most of the festivities were over to play a little more and have seconds on the cheesecake.

This was the only picture I could capture of the brothers in all the chaos!

That evening we loaded up the car with our gifts (my favorite being my new carpet steamer!) and headed home to get ready for Santa.

The boys changed into their matching jammies and we watched Christmas Story, while preparing breakfast casseroles for the morning.

We didn't forget about Santa or his reindeer:

We also made sure to say bye to Starry, who we won't see again until next year!
Santa was nice enough to leave us a picture, showing us that he stopped by and that he remembered to take Starry with him!
